Kosher Certification Policy

The Kosher Certification Joint – KCJ is the sole and exclusive legal owner of the KCJ certification mark. This emblem is a registered trademark, internationally recognized and legally protected, representing the highest standards of kosher compliance. Its use is strictly controlled and permitted only with the express written authorization of KCJ management. Unauthorized use of the KCJ mark constitutes a violation of trademark law and will be subject to legal action.

Products are considered and endorsed as kosher solely when they display the official KCJ emblem clearly on their packaging or labeling. Consumers are strongly encouraged to carefully inspect both the KCJ mark and the ingredient panel of products on a regular basis. Changes in formulation, manufacturing processes, or production sites may alter the kosher status of an item, even if it previously qualified as kosher.

To ensure the highest level of consumer confidence, kosher status updates and product advisories are published consistently on the KCJ official website.

Additional kosher-related updates are also made available through the News Reporter section of the internationally respected Orthodox Union publication, Jewish Action. Furthermore, products certified as Kosher for Passover under OU supervision are issued annually in the widely distributed Kosher Directory – Passover Edition, serving as a trusted reference guide for consumers worldwide.

KCJ Kosher Certification Symbols and Product Categorizations

KCJ utilizes clear and distinct certification symbols to classify products according to kosher dietary law. These categorizations are essential for both consumers and manufacturers to maintain transparency and compliance:

  1. Pareve (Neutral Foods):

    • Products labeled KCJ Pareve contain neither meat nor dairy ingredients.

    • They are manufactured under strict supervision to ensure neutrality.

    • Note: KCJ Pareve products may contain eggs or fish, in accordance with kosher dietary guidelines.

  2. Dairy (Chalav):

    • Products bearing the KCJ with a “D” Letter as a dairy symbol either contain dairy ingredients or have been produced on equipment that is also used for dairy processing.

    • This categorization is vital for those observing the separation of meat and dairy as required by kosher law.

  3. Meat/Poultry (Basar):

    • Products marked with the KCJ Meat symbol contain meat or poultry ingredients.

    • Alternatively, they may have been manufactured on equipment designated for meat/poultry processing.

    • This ensures full compliance with kosher slaughtering and preparation requirements.

At KCJ, the mission extends beyond certification. It is about preserving authenticity, safeguarding consumer trust, and upholding kosher tradition at the highest international standards

The KCJ symbol is not just a logo; it is a global guarantee of integrity, reliability, and religious compliance.
